Fintosch International Toddler School & Kindergarten

Early childhood mathematics

  • Children are curious and quick learners. They do have their own interests, talents and needs. Mathematical thinking in early childhood is innate and helps the children to combine the natural learning with mathematical processes.
  • Children of kindergarten age start to understand mathematical logic and how to apply it in everyday life.
  • The child learns numbers and is able to compare quantities between 0 and 20 and uses them in everyday life.
  • The child builds and compares objects and shapes, describes their relationship.
  • Comparisons – greater than, smaller than, equal, different pairs.
  • The child detects patterns and describes them, distinguishes short and long, heavy and light, full and empty, less and more, right and left, warm and cold, bottom and top as well as above and below.
